You’ve been on your healing journey for a while now. Your therapies are definitely making a dent, and you can feel yourself getting better. But you can’t quite get to that point of saying you’re ‘healed’, despite your best efforts.

Sound familiar?

I’ve been on that journey myself. And I’m really happy to report, I feel like I’ve healed.

What’s my secret?

Well, I’m embarrassed to say it’s something really simple, that doesn’t cost you a thing (no links to miracle products here!). All it took was a change in mindset. One that I might not have worked that out, had it not been for my healing journey in the first place.

Chronic illness grinds you down. You have good days, and you think “hey, I’ve finally cracked it”, only to be followed by a recurrence of symptoms and the bitter disappointment that comes with that. You grow frustrated. “Why won’t I heal?” you demand.

But your body is, in fact, perfectly designed to heal. Healing is both inevitable and innate to us. What needs to be healed is our false belief that it can’t heal itself.

Where do we get these false beliefs from? Perhaps you’ve grown up with family who’ve suffered chronic illness or pain, and you’ve learnt the belief that healing illness and pain is difficult, and only the lucky achieve it? Maybe it’s the negative perceptions of health that the media puts out? Covid has dominated the front pages of the news since last March. Yes, take precautions to protect yourself from Covid, follow public health guidance, but you don’t have to believe catching it is inevitable. Where’s the positive news about the importance of good sleep, vitamin D, and good nutrition to run alongside the public health messages?

Back to my point: the very simple thing you can do to take your healing to that next level is accept that your body can heal itself, and believe it. It’s an energy kind of thing.

Enjoy mantras? Repeat: “My body is strong. My body can heal itself. I am healthy, happy well and strong” daily, multiple times a day, whatever is best for you. And don’t just say it. Mean it. Feel the emotions of what those words mean to you, the happiness and joy you feel being well. Believe those words to be true.

Then correct those negative thoughts that creep into your mind. You know the ones. “ “Stupid body, why won’t you heal?” “I’m never going to get better.” Acknowledge them, but stop them there and then, dead in their tracks. And replace them with a positive message instead. Like “I’m healing” or “I trust my body to heal itself”. You’ve just cancelled out the negative with a positive, and you’ve stopped the negative getting bigger. Those negative thoughts are what are sabotaging your healing efforts.

You still need to do your therapies, but you’re now doing them with a new, healing, mindset.

This takes practice. Correcting your negative thought patterns won’t happen overnight. But simply stopping those thoughts dead, and canceling out that negativity with a positive thought is healing you energetically.

If you’re so inclined, I also call on the help of God’s Archangels. Angels exist in all religions and I write here from a non-denominational perspective. I’ve had amazing results asking for help. From flat out: “Archangel Michael I’m scared, please help me turn my negative thoughts into a positive”, to “Archangel Raphael, please would you help me to heal. Please would you show me ways to heal myself completely, in ways that I understand?”

And then wait. Listen to the messages you receive. Look for the signs. They might come in an email. Or on the news. It might be something someone says to you. You know, those strange little coincidences that happen sometimes. “Oh, I was just talking/thinking about that…”

I’ll finish with a beautiful quote from a beautiful soul:

“My Grandmother told me “never say you are sick. Even if you are sick. Say you are healing. Words do manifest.” John Lennon
